:: OUR ORGANIZATION

The work of is carried out by an international team based in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas. From their base in San Cristóbal, the team travels to the principal areas of conflict in the state. With the goal of joining together with other organizations and movements at a national level, our team has expanded its work to other areas in Mexico, specifically Oaxaca and Guerrero.

The work and information gathering of the international team serves also to inform the Board of Directors, as it carries out its responsibilities for evaluation, decision-making and planning. Our board is comprised of representatives from various organizations who form part of the SIPAZ coalition.

The SIPAZ coalition is made up of organizations from the Americas and Europe who have a long history of work in the areas of peace, human rights and the peaceful transformation of conflicts and share a deep concern over the issues that have created the violence in Chiapas and other parts of Mexico (Guerrero, Oaxaca, the border states)

In addition to these three bodies, our International Advisory Committee provides moral and institutional support to the work that SIPAZ carries out both within as well as outside of Chiapas.
